Experienced Meat Cutter

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Cutter to join our team at BJ's Wholesale Club. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for receiving, rotating, cutting, wrapping, and merchandising fresh and processed meats, including grinds. You will also assist in merchandising seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, and pre-packed deli and assist in the rotisserie chicken area and full-service deli.
Key Responsibilities- Cut, grind, and/or process fresh meats to company cutting standards.
- Weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood to company packaging standards.
- Ensure the meat case showcases all currently available products and maintain an appropriate level of inventory.
- Ensure the meat, seafood, prepared foods, and cheese cases are fully stocked and rotated according to expiration dates.
- Clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department, including the meat cooler, freezer, and refrigerated display cases.
- Inspect and store meat upon delivery and ensure that all received meats meet or exceed company quality standards.
- Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
- Previous meat cutting experience required.
- Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
- At least 18 years of age.
The Meat Cutter will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises. The position requires regular, predictable, full attendance and the ability to move about on hard surfaces, occasionally position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, and lift objects up to 30 pounds.
