Experienced Meat Cutter

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Cutter to join our team at BJ's Wholesale Club. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for receiving, rotating, cutting, wrapping, and merchandising fresh and processed meats, including grinds. You will also assist in merchandising seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, and pre-packed deli items, as well as assist in the rotisserie chicken area and full-service deli.
Key Responsibilities- Cut, grind, and/or process fresh meats to company cutting standards.
- Weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood to company packaging standards.
- Ensure the meat case showcases all currently available products and maintains an appropriate level of inventory.
- Rotate meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates and follow established guidelines when disposing of damaged and/or expired products.
- Clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department, including the meat cooler, freezer, and refrigerated display cases.
- Inspect and store meat upon delivery to ensure it meets or exceeds company quality standards.
- Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
- Previous meat cutting experience required.
- Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
- At least 18 years of age.
The Meat Cutter will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises. The ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and move heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance is required.
