Position: Operating Room Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse to join our team at Greenlife Healthcare Staffing. This role is crucial in providing exceptional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key Details of the Operating Room Nurse Role:

  • Full-time employment
  • Flexible duty hours

Primary Responsibilities:

  • As an Operating Room Nurse, you will deliver comprehensive care to patients requiring surgical interventions, collaborating closely with surgeons and anesthesia teams. You will operate both independently and under the guidance of the Nurse Manager or designee.
  • Utilize specialty clinical skills to prevent infections through adherence to universal precautions, effective hand hygiene, and maintaining aseptic techniques.
  • Employ proper body mechanics to ensure safety for yourself, patients, and colleagues.
  • Utilize safety equipment and check emergency supplies regularly to ensure readiness.
  • Specific duties as a Circulating Nurse include:
    • Certification in routine scrub nurse duties and procedures for all patients.
    • Demonstrate correct aseptic techniques.
    • Manage operating room equipment, including tables and lights.
    • Assist anesthesia providers and position patients appropriately.
    • Conduct sponge counts and complete necessary documentation.
  • As a Scrub Nurse, you will also be certified to perform essential scrub duties for various surgical procedures, including but not limited to Minor Procedures, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, GU, Oral, GYN, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, ENT, Cardiac, and Thoracic surgeries.
  • Be prepared to work with patients who may be COVID-19 positive or under investigation for COVID-19.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in an Operating Room setting or current operating room nursing certification is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program recognized by the appropriate state agency.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred; a Master's Degree is highly regarded.
  • An unrestricted registered nurse license from any state in the United States is mandatory.
