Your Team

UT Health Tyler, our flagship hospital, offers advanced acute care medicine with 502 licensed beds. Our 24-hour ER features a Level 1 trauma center and a comprehensive stroke center. We have over 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities
  1. Respond to assigned calls in the most efficient manner and provide high standards of patient care while maintaining a safe environment.
  2. Work with a Paramedic on an MICU ambulance and contribute to overall patient care in areas such as patient assessment, triage, packaging, and transport according to protocol.
  3. Occasionally work with another EMT on a BLS unit within the system.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Texas DSHS certification as EMT.
  • Possess and maintain all certifications required by the Medical Control Board and by the UT Health East Texas EMS Master Contract.
  • Possess and maintain a current Texas motor vehicle operator's license and meet all company requirements according to policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • National Registry.
  • International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification or Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Education for Pre-Hospital Professionals (PEPP) certification or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • 2 years of driving experience.
