Job Title: Nurse Educator

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Educator to join our team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. As a Nurse Educator, you will play a critical role in promoting patient-centered care and developing the skills of our nursing staff.

Job Summary:

The Nurse Educator will work within the Family Medicine Clinic to implement and promote evidence-based practices that maintain a patient-centered care approach. This includes developing a clinical strategy for well-child checks, coordinating the transition of care for pediatric patients, and overseeing community health workers' call encounters to direct patient follow-up care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a clinical strategy for well-child checks, including pre-visit planning and coordination of care for pediatric patients.
  • Oversee community health workers' call encounters to direct patient follow-up care and ensure timely and accurate documentation of services.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff at all levels to ensure children who are high-priority beneficiaries receive optimal care, with a focus on bilingual communication (Spanish, Marshallese).
  • Support the Family Medicine Residency by providing pediatric and prenatal knowledge and skills through daily clinical encounters and participating in residency and nursing learning activities.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an associate degree or nursing diploma and seven years of experience as an educator/instructor or RN experience, or a bachelor's degree in nursing and RN license with five years of experience as an educator/instructor or RN experience.
  • Valid Arkansas Registered Nursing License.
  • Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Valid AR Driver's License.
