Job Title: Associate Producer Meet The Press

Meet the Press with Kristen Welker is seeking an Associate Producer with exceptional editorial skills and strong news judgment. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated expertise in covering politics and policy, as well as strong tape, digital, and social skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with editors and graphic artists to produce packages, including the broadcast Open, edit tape elements, and develop graphics.
  • Generate and pitch show ideas, program guests, and franchise segments.
  • Produce political panel.
  • Gather sound and assist with Meet the Press interview elements and spots.
  • Produce guest research and write questions for Meet the Press moderator.
  • Shoot and edit stories for digital and social platforms, and elements for broadcast.
  • Edit show promos, early release clips, and other show franchises.
  • Identify top news-making moments for NBC News affiliates.
  • Track competition.
  • Assist with show archiving.
  • Edit and socialize breakout clips for social platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms.
  • Assist with podcast production for audio projects.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in news production.
  • At least 3 years of tape, field, and editing experience.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • Must be willing to work in Washington, DC.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays as part of the regular weekly schedule and evenings and holidays as required.

Additional Requirements:

This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
