About Us

Carvana, a leading e-commerce platform for buying and selling used cars, is seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic II to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing proper diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance on vehicles to ensure they meet our high standards.

Responsibilities
  • A/C & Heater: Operate the system, recognize cooling or heating issues, perform basic system checks, identify freon and oil leaks, and run OEM performance tests.
  • Brakes: Identify brake system components, visually inspect brakes, measure lining, drums, rotors, and cams, and perform repair and diagnosis.
  • Electrical Charging Systems: Perform full diagnostic analysis, including in-depth corrections, and visually inspect batteries, clean connections, and check alternator mounting and pulley.
  • Cooling Systems: Diagnose fan clutch types, replace fan clutches, check and adjust coolant levels, and make minor repairs such as hose replacements.
  • Electrical Cranking System: Analyze root causes, inspect/test batteries, cables, and motor, clean battery cables, and connections, and check/charge/replace batteries.
  • System and Electrical Accessories: Evaluate lighting system configuration and application, diagnose and repair difficult lighting system problems, and replace entire lighting circuits.
  • Drive Axles: Inspect housing for leaks, change oil and filter, and clean breathers.
  • Driveline: Lubricate drive line, inspect components for wear or damage.
  • All Engines: Check/adjust oil level, identify unusual noises and oil leaks, and diagnose all fuel system malfunctions.
  • Fuel Systems: Make adjustments to fuel system components, repair and replace electrical fuel system components, and check gas and diesel fuel system components.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform full fault code identification, proper lube techniques, tire inspection, brake check/applied stroke, battery check, and under vehicle check/lose components.
  • Tire and Wheel Maintenance: Perform air pressure checks, check tread depth, identify tires that need to be changed or repaired, and perform tire checks.
  • Suspension-Chassis and Cab: Diagnose hard to find problems and all types of system problems, maintain, repair, and replace all chassis components.
  • Steering, Axle and Alignment: Diagnose/repair power steering, disassemble, diagnose/repair steering gear boxes, and diagnose and repair all systems and related problems.
Requirements
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must have the ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
