Key Responsibilities- Assign security officers to specific duties and rotate them as necessary to ensure coverage and avoid fatigue.
- Monitor the performance of security officers to ensure they follow established protocols and procedures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for any escalated issues from security officers or clients.
- Ensure all security officers are briefed at the beginning of each shift on any updates or changes to protocols and procedures.
- Respond immediately to any reports of harmful or dangerous behavior from security officers.
- Directly manage incidents involving potential client elopement, ensuring security officers follow the correct protocol.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and other security personnel in case of an elopement or other emergencies.
- Maintain clear and open communication with clients and other stakeholders to ensure security measures align with their needs.
- Regularly update security personnel on any incidents, changes in status, or other critical information.
- Conduct regular training sessions for security officers on recognizing and managing potential elopements, crisis intervention, and other security protocols.
- Provide on-the-job training for new security officers, focusing on the specific needs and protocols of the security team.
- Review and provide feedback to security officers on their performance, emphasizing adherence to safety protocols and effective communication.
- Ensure all incidents, including potential and actual elopements, are thoroughly documented in incident reports.
- Review and approve incident reports filed by security officers, ensuring they are complete and accurate.
- Maintain a log of all visitors entering and exiting the facility, ensuring all procedures for visitor management are followed correctly.
- Ensure security officers are operating in full compliance with established protocols and procedures.
- Regularly inspect the facility to ensure all doors and secure areas are properly managed, and that visitors and clients do not have unauthorized access.
- Confirm that all procedures regarding visitor screening and patient supervision are strictly followed by all security officers.
- Coordinate with client staff and other security personnel during emergencies.
- Ensure all security officers remain at their posts until properly relieved by other authorized personnel.
- Take charge during critical situations, ensuring the safety and security of the facility and personnel.
- Oversee shift transitions, ensuring all incoming security officers are briefed on the current status of the facility and any ongoing incidents.
- Ensure security officers take their breaks without compromising the security and safety of the facility.
- Manage any personnel issues within the security team, addressing any concerns or disciplinary matters as needed.
- Monitor attendance and maintain a log of security officer attendance, monitoring patterns of absenteeism.
- Establish a clear protocol for security officers to report book-offs, including a minimum notice period, if possible.
- Respond immediately to book-off notifications, assessing the impact on staffing levels and prioritizing filling the vacancy to maintain coverage.
- Contact relief officers and maintain an updated list of relief or on-call officers who can be contacted to fill in for booked-off security officers.
- Reassign duties among existing security officers to ensure critical areas are covered until a replacement arrives.
- Notify management of the book-off and the steps being taken to fill the vacancy.
- Document the process of filling the vacancy, including calls made to relief officers and any changes to the shift structure.
- Follow up with the absent security officer according to company policy after the shift.
- 2+ years of security experience, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
- Healthcare, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English.
