Hatchery Technician

We are seeking a skilled Hatchery Worker to join our team at Perdue Farms. As a key member of our hatchery operations, you will be responsible for working in all areas of the hatchery, with a primary focus on the transfer crew and processing crew. This role requires attention to detail, strong mechanical abilities, and the ability to adapt to various positions and procedures.

• Transfer eggs from incubators to Hatcher trays as part of the Transfer Team, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Assist in all chick processing functions, including loading incubators, cleaning and disinfecting equipment, and monitoring machine performance
• Perform minor maintenance duties as required, and observe all company personnel, safety, quality, and food safety policies
• Adhere to all safety rules, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures, and Process Safety Management related matters

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good mechanical abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to adapt and learn various positions and procedures
• Ability to lift egg cases weighing up to 50 pounds, and work in a wet, damp, dusty environment
