Job Description

Oklahoma Human Services is seeking a dedicated Child Welfare Specialist to join our team. As a Child Welfare Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work with families and children to provide support and services to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate allegations of child abuse or neglect and provide services to help families overcome barriers to child safety.
  • Preserve and strengthen protective capacities of parents to keep children safe in their own homes.
  • Provide placements for children that meet their medical, educational, and physical needs.

Requirements:

  • Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university, or 3 years of experience related to child welfare work, or a combination of education and experience.
  • A bachelor's degree (in any field) to qualify, or one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
  • A Master's degree, or a bachelor's degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist, or two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.

Benefits:

  • Annual salary ranging from $37,280.75 to $43,968.62, depending on level.
  • Full state employee benefits.
  • Opportunity for a 5% salary incentive for applicants with a Master's Degree in Social Work.
  • On-call positions receive an additional bonus ranging from $100 to $150 every two weeks.

Travel is extensive, and a valid driver's license is required. State vehicles are available for use to carry out the duties of the position.
