We are seeking a highly skilled Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive therapeutic recreation program for patients on our Inpatient Unit.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and provide recreation and leisure activities to patients on the Inpatient Unit
- Provide inservice and teaching to medical, nursing, and ancillary services to enhance patient participation
- Assess, plan, and provide system enhancements to meet the needs of the hospital patient population
- Participate in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement activities
- Manage the activities of volunteers participating in the program
- Liaise with hospital audiences to provide program development and statistical reports
- Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college with relevant coursework in Recreation, Physical Education, Dance, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, and Psychology
- One year of experience in planning, coordinating, and supervising a recreation activities program in a hospital or healthcare facility
