Key Responsibilities:

The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that orders and shipping quantities align with picking documents through meticulous audits, addressing any discrepancies, and implementing corrective measures.
  • Coordinating and scheduling customer carrier pickups, ensuring drivers have the necessary documentation.
  • Confirming the physical shipment of goods and facilitating package tracking.
  • Collaborating with carriers and freight forwarders to arrange the pickup of goods.
  • Utilizing a warehouse management system to generate accurate bills of lading for outbound shipments.
  • Managing tracer inquiries through email, phone, or fax as required.
  • Processing invoices for payment to the appropriate office.
  • Overseeing the activities of shipping material handlers on the dock.
  • Completing necessary management reports as needed.
  • Facilitating the efficient staging and loading of trucks to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Accurately recording and reporting shipping transactions.
  • Documenting damages and discrepancies for accounting and record-keeping purposes.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in shipping or administrative support.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office/Outlook.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Capability to engage with diverse groups.
  • Strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and schedules.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Education/Certification:

A High School Diploma or GED is required.
