Job Summary:
Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is seeking an Assistant Security Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will assist in the coordination of security services at our shopping center location. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Account Manager in coordinating security services, including supervising security professionals and directing their work.
- Conduct on-the-job training and orientation for new employees, ensuring they understand post orders, routine responsibilities, and emergency procedures.
- Oversee reports, logs, and pass downs generated by the Security Department, distributing communications and information to security professionals as directed.
- Manage and supervise sub-units within the Security Department, including fire control rooms, command centers, and loading docks.
- Respond to minor incidents, ensuring appropriate action is taken, reports are completed, and parties are notified in a timely manner.
- Identify and address personnel problems, such as payroll issues, employee relations complaints, or other concerns, and forward issues to the Account Manager or Field Supervisor as appropriate.
- Make recommendations for counseling and/or disciplinary action, including termination, and may be responsible for administering counseling or disciplinary actions.
- Respond to client or site emergencies, ensuring communication with the Account Manager, Field Supervisor, Branch, and/or Regional Manager, and maintaining positive client/security relationships through frequent tenant/client contact and support.
Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum three (3) - five (5) years of professional-level experience required, with prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement, and/or military.
- Valid state Guard License required, with the ability to maintain current active status at all times.
- Driving Positions: must possess a valid Driver's License with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle.
- Energetic and focused personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments, and effectively manage deadlines.
- Ability to write effective and concise reports in neat, legible handwriting.
- Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
- Ability to train and coach others, and to effectively enforce post orders, security standards, and company policies equitably and consistently.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required, with the ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization, including with clients, while functioning as a team player.
