About the RoleThis position plays a vital role in our dietary services department, responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious meals for residents in long-term care facilities. As an Executive Chef Assistant, you will work closely with our culinary team to ensure that our menu offerings meet the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and cooking meals according to planned menus and recipes;
- Ensuring food quality, taste, and presentation meet our standards;
- Adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines; maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen;
- Assisting with inventory management and ordering of supplies;
- Interacting positively with residents, staff, and guests, providing excellent customer service.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent;
- Previous experience as a cook or in food preparation is preferred;
- The ability to follow recipes and dietary restrictions;
- A positive attitude and effective communication skills;
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies;
- The ability to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods;
- The ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
