Job Description

EHS Specialist

The EHS Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local safety and environmental regulations. This includes conducting regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate hazards. The EHS Specialist will also lead and manage incident investigations, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions. Additionally, they will develop and implement safety programs and policies to promote a safe working environment. The EHS Specialist will provide safety training and education to employees, ensuring awareness and adherence to safety protocols. They will also monitor environmental compliance, including waste management, emissions, and sustainability initiatives. The EHS Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operations and processes. They will track and report EHS performance metrics, driving continuous improvement efforts. The EHS Specialist will maintain and update safety documentation, records, and compliance reports. They will also lead emergency preparedness efforts, including conducting drills and updating emergency response plans.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local safety regulations. They will have proven experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations. The candidate will also have the ability to develop and implement safety programs and policies. Excellent communication skills are required for delivering safety training and collaborating across teams. The candidate will be detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate compliance documentation and reports. Experience in a manufacturing or high-tech environment, understanding unique operational challenges, is preferred. The candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a focus on continuous improvement of safety and environmental practices. Certifications such as OSHA 30-hour or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) are preferred. The candidate will have demonstrated leadership in managing emergency preparedness and response plans. A strong commitment to fostering a safe and environmentally compliant workplace culture is essential.
