Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Lead Systems Architect to join our dynamic engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the ongoing enhancement of a sophisticated software system, providing exceptional technical leadership and fostering effective communication within the team.
As the Lead Systems Architect, you will operate in a technical capacity within a SAFe Agile development framework, collaborating with all levels of Program Leadership, clients, and engineers involved in the project.
Your responsibilities will include:- Partnering with RTX systems engineering and subcontractor teams to architect and develop software solutions.
- Offering technical guidance and clarification to subcontractors throughout the software development lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to development, testing, deployment, and operational phases.
- Decomposing solutions from customer epics into capabilities, features, and user stories in accordance with SAFe methodologies.
- Utilizing systems engineering expertise to enhance feature designs and mitigate risks throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Engaging with customer representatives to gather user requirements and integrate them into feature designs.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts from various disciplines to ensure comprehensive understanding and documentation of the solutions.
Essential Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- An active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance.
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience.
- Experience in an Agile development environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create system solutions that meet client needs.
- Proficiency in requirements decomposition and development of CONOPS.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and effective time management.
- Extensive experience in systems engineering, particularly in the development of large-scale software systems, serving as a Technical Lead or subject matter expert.
- Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and DoDAF operational views.
- Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies and their implementation.
- Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) in a systems engineering capacity.
- Familiarity with modeling tools and methodologies such as Cameo, Enterprise Architect, or Rhapsody.
- CompTIA Security+ Certification.
- Experience with cloud technologies, migration, containerization, and automation processes.
