We are seeking a dedicated Veterinarian to lead our veterinary services team at The Humane Society of Rochester and Monroe Co.
Job ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing Veterinary Expertise: Overseeing and monitoring the health of shelter animals, providing veterinary expertise in accordance with our organizational policies and procedures.
- Surgical Services: Performing high-volume spay-neuter surgeries and other surgeries as needed.
- Veterinary Care Standards: Creating and maintaining standards of veterinary care for domestic, farm, and equine animals.
- Care Team Support: Coaching animal care, farm, and equine staff to monitor and maintain health standards.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A Doctoral Veterinary degree (DVM, VMD, or equivalent) with a license to practice in New York State.
- At least two years of experience working in private practice or an animal shelter environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to safely and humanely handle all farm and domestic animals.
We provide a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
