Physician Assistant

As a Physician Assistant in Orthopedic Surgery at Sutter Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care to patients. You will work collaboratively with a physician to assess, diagnose, plan, and implement medical care for patients. Your responsibilities will include managing patients in various settings, such as offices, hospitals, emergency departments, and perioperative settings. You will also be responsible for providing patient education, treatment, and follow-up care, as well as completing daily rounds and participating in a multi-disciplinary team approach to provide continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess, diagnose, plan, and implement medical care for patients in collaboration with a physician
• Manage patients in various settings, including offices, hospitals, emergency departments, and perioperative settings
• Provide patient education, treatment, and follow-up care
• Complete daily rounds and participate in a multi-disciplinary team approach to provide continuity of care
• Follow ambulatory care and inpatient standardized procedures, protocols, policy, and procedures regulated by the State of California Physician Assistant Practice Act
Requirements:
• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program
• PA-Physician Assistant licensure
• CSRC-Controlled Substance Registered Certification (DEA)
• BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
• Other certification based on department requirements
• 2 years of recent relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
• Working knowledge of electronic health records such as EPIC
• Critical thinking skills as it relates to specialized departments
• Communication skills (verbal, written, and listening) with ability to work effectively across the organization
• Interpersonal skills with ability to work with and collaborate across the organization and with patients and their families as needed
• Ability to effectively lead, mentor, and/or develop others
• Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions

Pay Range:
The salary range for this role is $88.39 to $128.15 per hour. Compensation takes into account several factors, including but not limited to, a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, and certifications, department equity, training, and organizational needs.
