Job Title: Special Education Vision Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Special Education Vision Teacher to join our team at Puyallup Special Services. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting students with visual impairments and providing them with the necessary tools to succeed academically and personally.

Job Summary:

The Special Education Vision Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments. This will include providing direct instruction, adapting curriculum materials, and collaborating with other educators to ensure students receive a comprehensive education.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement IEPs for students with visual impairments
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in the classroom and in individual settings
  • Adapt curriculum materials to meet the needs of students with visual impairments
  • Collaborate with other educators to ensure students receive a comprehensive education
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to ensure they are informed and involved in their child's education
Requirements:
  • Hold or be able to obtain a teaching certificate with OSPI, including the appropriate endorsement
  • Have experience working with students with visual impairments
  • Be able to adapt curriculum materials and provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments
  • Be able to collaborate with other educators to ensure students receive a comprehensive education
