Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of our residents. You will provide personalized care and support, promoting independence and dignity in all aspects of daily life.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Encourage residents to be as independent as possible, while providing support and assistance as needed
  • Keep accurate records of care and complete all necessary documentation
  • Report any concerns or changes in a resident's condition to the Supervisor in Charge
  • Perform vital sign monitoring as needed or directed by regulations or primary care providers
  • Apply community accident, disaster, fire safety, elopement, and emergency procedures to protect residents
  • Provide CPR certification and knowledge of residents' backgrounds, preferences, habits, and interests
  • Focus on providing excellent customer service to residents and their families
  • Assist with mealtime and promote a positive dining experience
  • Understand and follow safety and infection control policies and procedures
  • Respond to emergency call signals promptly and report incidents to the Supervisor in Charge
  • Collect, launder, and distribute linens and garments as permitted by State regulations
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the general public
  • Compassion and desire to work with the elderly, understanding that the facility is considered the resident's home
  • Ability to work responsibly as a team member and individual
  • Honesty, ethics, fairness, dependability, and respect for confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others
  • Meet all health requirements and pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation

Working Conditions
  • Scheduled hours with possible overtime

  • Involved with residents, personnel, and visitors under all conditions and circumstances

Physical/Sensory Requirements
  • Medium work: ability to exert 10-35 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the day
  • Ability to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents and staff
  • Ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and hostile people within the community
