Job Title: Diesel Mechanic/Technician

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team at the Walbec Group. As a Diesel Mechanic/Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy-duty trucks and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to determine machine or vehicle condition
  • Perform preventive maintenance schedules, including installing component and part upgrades
  • Correct deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
  • Verify proper performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems
  • Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repair logs
Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record (CDL required or the ability to obtain)
  • Two to three years of prior work experience working on heavy-duty trucks and diesel engines
  • High School diploma and vocational training and certification from an accredited organization, or combination of schooling and relevant work experience
  • Strong technical understanding, good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and thoroughness
  • Adaptable to new equipment and a willingness to learn and be trained
