Position Summary:
The Material Handler plays a crucial role in the efficient movement and management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. This position involves performing various manual labor tasks under direct supervision, including cleaning, decontamination, and the handling of waste materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload a variety of containers, including totes, drums, and trailers.
  • Construct and label boxes or fiber containers, ensuring proper stacking and loading.
  • Utilize tools such as impact wrenches, shovels, and jackhammers for various tasks.
  • Transport hazardous waste materials within the facility as directed.
  • Decontaminate and dispose of empty containers in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist in completing necessary documentation for material processing and transportation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Inspect material handling equipment as required.
  • Support the loading and unloading of waste materials at designated locations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in the hazardous waste or chemical industry is preferred, with at least 3 to 6 months in a related role.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in the use of material handling equipment.
