About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our hospital's mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems, including the nurse call system, CCTV system, and electrical boxes.
  • Perform plumbing repairs, including clearing stoppages in drain systems, repairing toilet fixtures, and replacing valves in faucets.
  • Conduct carpentry tasks, including basic troubleshooting and repairing of hospital beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, and other mobile equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems, including filter changing, belt changing, and greasing of AHUs.
  • Monitor and record levels of medical gas supplies and operate the main Chilled Water Sub Center.
  • Respond to emergency situations, including power losses and Code Mr. Firestone incidents.
Requirements
  • High school or trade school graduate.
  • 3 years of experience preferred in one of the construction or maintenance trades.
  • Thorough knowledge of plant systems and sub-systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, steam heating systems.
  • HVAC and/or plumbing license.
  • Boiler plant and machinery operating experience.
