Mechanic - Heavy Duty Diesel Transit Vehicles

The Norwalk Transit District is seeking a skilled Mechanic - Heavy Duty Diesel Transit Vehicles to join our maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of diesel and gas powered vehicles, including buses, body-on-chassis vehicles, and support vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment
- Conduct inspections and diagnose issues with vehicles and equipment
- Repair and replace parts as needed
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 5+ years of experience in heavy duty diesel transit vehicle maintenance
- Ability to read and follow manuals and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
