Job Summary:

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a highly skilled Dental Assistant to provide support in the Periodontology clinic. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing the clinic, setting up trays using sterile techniques, and assisting with a variety of restorative and surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for procedures and review post-op instructions
  • Assist with obtaining informed consent and documenting pre- and post-op vitals
  • Restock inventories in the rooms in a prescribed manner
  • Assist clinical faculty in training dental, dental auxiliary, and graduate specialty students in clinical practice
  • Monitor and implement clinic policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency and completion of an accredited dental assisting program
  • Previous chair-side dental assisting experience
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a wide variety of individuals
