Position: Senior Systems Engineer

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI w/ Poly required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user requirements, operational documents, and high-level system architectures to create system requirements specifications.
  • Lead design and development activities based on system requirements.
  • Assist users in defining requirements, suggest alternative solutions, and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Provide technical leadership for integrating requirements, design, and technology.
  • Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • Create system architecture and design documentation.
  • Guide system development and implementation planning through the preparation of engineering management plans and integration and test plans.
  • Engage with government representatives regarding technical considerations and associated issues.
  • Ensure the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables related to the Systems Engineering domain.
  • Communicate effectively with program personnel, government overseers, and senior management.

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in developing comprehensive SOA solutions.
  • Ability to create operational views, technical standards views, and system/service views for architectures using applicable DoDAF standards.
  • Conduct and approve end-to-end system trade analyses to optimize system operations throughout its lifecycle.
  • Utilize validated models, simulations, and prototypes to mitigate risks and reduce development costs.
  • Ensure effective review and control of the evolving configuration of both hardware and software components during the system's lifecycle.
  • Participate as a member of the Change Control Board (CCB).
  • Develop system design alternatives considering lifecycle costs, reuse, complexity, risk, and growth.
  • Formulate alternative courses of action and monitor risks using earned value management (EVM) data.
  • Recommend preferred solutions based on selection criteria during Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) efforts.
  • Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, integration, and testing of complex hardware/software systems.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in Systems Engineering for programs and contracts of similar scope and complexity is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is essential.
  • A Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited institution is required. Five (5) years of additional experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
