Job Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of a physician, the Medical Assistant contributes to patient care delivery.

Responsibilities include a variety of patient care tasks such as maintaining clinical documentation, administering medications, providing injections, and monitoring vital signs.



Key Duties:

- MONITOR VITAL SIGNS, CHIEF COMPLAINTS, ALLERGIES, AND UPDATE MEDICATION LISTS.

- Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures for patient care delivery.

- Ability to accurately document patient information in compliance with regulations.

- Observe and report any abnormalities in patient conditions to the healthcare provider.

- Conduct medical histories and record vital signs.



- ADMINISTER ROUTINE MEDICATIONS (ORAL, RECTAL, INJECTABLE).

- Knowledge of safe and accurate medication administration principles.

- Understand the 5 rights of medication administration: right patient, right medication, right dose, right route, right time.

- Identify and report any adverse reactions.



- PERFORM ROUTINE PATIENT TESTING.

- Complete all necessary steps for acquiring and processing electrocardiograms.

- Collect and process blood and urine specimens.



- ASSIST WITH PROCEDURES AND EQUIPMENT SETUP.

- Ensure all required equipment and supplies are prepared and functional.

- Clean and disinfect the room and equipment post-procedure.

- Prepare patients for tests and procedures.



- PERFORM ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS RELATED TO PATIENT CARE.

- Utilize patient care scheduling systems effectively.

- Enter and manage patient-related data in the practice management system.

- Interpret and input patient orders accurately.



- MAINTAIN PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH PATIENTS AND STAFF.

- Observe and report any changes in patient conditions to the healthcare provider.



Skills and Qualifications:

- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques.

- Familiarity with medical equipment and instruments.

- Proficient in computer usage, including email and web-based applications.
