Position Overview:
The Revenue Cycle Analyst, specializing in Epic Systems, operates under the guidance of the IT Manager within the Operations & Technology Services Department. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between end users and the Epic Revenue Cycle team, focusing on system enhancements and optimizations.
The analyst will be responsible for providing training, mentorship, and support to billing personnel, aiming to enhance financial and operational results for the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates staff training on electronic medical record (EMR) usage during onboarding and system upgrades, particularly in billing processes and protocols.
- Acts as a liaison between end users and software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
- Identifies and addresses application development challenges using established troubleshooting techniques.
- Conducts patient account mergers as necessary and maintains updated staff resources and payer information within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Performs regular audits of systems, processes, and documentation as required.
- Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in EHR Revenue Specialization, gathering requirements for application development related to the revenue cycle.
- Creates and documents departmental procedures and EHR Revenue workflows.
- Leads training sessions for new EHR orientations or system upgrades, focusing on workflows and features.
- Collaborates with vendors on software development projects and assists in creating dashboards and basic reports for user reporting.
- Addresses end-user issues reported through the ticketing system, documenting problems and solutions effectively.
- Escalates issues appropriately within the organization or to vendors as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field is required.
Experience: A minimum of three years in a healthcare environment and five years in a technical support capacity is essential.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are crucial. Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and billing revenue cycles is necessary, along with knowledge of medical or business-related terminology.
