Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a vital member of the Cardiothoracic Surgical Service under the supervision of the Medical Director
- Assist in the operating room, ensuring seamless execution of complex surgeries
- Coordinate patient care, providing comprehensive support to adult and pediatric cardiothoracic patients
- Promote smooth transitions from admission to discharge through effective patient/family education
- Develop and implement positive improvements for the allied health team, showcasing initiative and leadership skills
Requirements:
- Current CA PA License
- National Board Certification
- Graduation from an accredited PA Program (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum 2 years' experience, with a strong background in CT surgeries, EVH, and endo radial artery harvesting
- Knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology
- Skill in physical assessment and nursing care of cardiac surgery patients
- Strong teaching skills
- Ability to perform patient history and physical assessment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of interdisciplinary resources needed to coordinate patient care
- Skill in removal of chest tubes, temporary pacing wires, and sutures/staples
- Knowledge and skill in BCLS and ACLS
- Knowledge and skill in wound care and treatment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a dynamic environment
Estimated Salary Range: $93,400 - $124,800 per year
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant PA experience and demonstrate exceptional clinical skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care.
