UGE Operator Job Description

**Job Summary**

The UGE Operator is a key member of the MasTec Utility Services team, responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment required to install underground infrastructure for our customers. This role requires a strong understanding of construction equipment and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of construction equipment, including mobile cranes, bulldozers, and trenchers, to install underground conduit, cables, and other infrastructure.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Inspect work areas to ensure they are safe and free from hazards.
  • Work with the maintenance crew to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment.
  • Load and unload equipment and materials in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to the required quality standards.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience operating construction equipment preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with regular exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, and noise. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights is also required.
