Behavioral Intervention Specialist

A New Hope is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Intervention Staff to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with clients aged 3-21 to help them acquire and demonstrate everyday skills, leading to a more independent life.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement approved plans and objectives to improve skills and reduce maladaptive behaviors in clients aged 3-21.
- Work in various environments, including clients' homes, social settings, and community locations, to provide individualized support.
- Transcribe accurate and detailed case notes, including communication with clients' families and supervisors.
- Provide thorough descriptions of treatment protocols to families and caretakers.
- Make quick decisions while adhering to standard rules and protocols tied to behavior intervention and individual treatment plans.
- Ensure client safety and engagement during therapeutic interventions, adhering to the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics.
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in a human services field (e.g., psychology, sociology, education, etc.).
- Be free of communicable diseases.
- Hold current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
- Basic technology skills (MS Office, online form completion, use/editing of digital documents, etc.).
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle with current insurance.
- Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) training.
- 1,040 hours of supervised experience working with individuals aged 21 and under who have a developmental disability.
- PATIENCE with both clients and family members.
- Approachable to clients and their families, willing to share intervention strategies and desired outcomes.
- Independent, able to stay on task and create individualized routines based on implementation plans.
- EXTENSIVE background with children and families, highly knowledgeable in child development.
- Excellent communication skills - verbal and nonverbal.
- High attention to detail in written notes and descriptions.
Working conditions vary and involve the ability to adapt in several environments, including business, home, community, and office settings. Work may require frequent weekend and evening work, as well as local travel.
Compensation and Benefits:Hourly wage or salary is $16.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on past experience. Travel during shift is reimbursable. After a 60-day waiting period at full-time status, health, dental, and life insurances can be obtained.
