Job Summary

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will play a crucial role in facilitating the stabilization process for patients suffering from behavioral problems and mental health disorders at our state-of-the-art hospital in South Carolina.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and physicians to develop and implement treatment plans for patients
  • Provide diagnostic care and treatment, focusing on psychiatric/mental health maintenance and wellness
  • Utilize medicinal and therapeutic interventions to help patients achieve optimal mental health
  • Participate in on-call rotations for patient evaluation and care upon intake
  • Attend Treatment Team meetings and actively collaborate with the team to educate patients and families about mental illness
  • Contribute to Quality/process Improvement meetings as an active member
Requirements
  • Caring individual dedicated to providing high-quality care to residents
  • Current, unencumbered Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license valid to practice in South Carolina
  • South Carolina Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
  • Prescriptive authority from the state of South Carolina
  • Federal DEA License/Certification
  • Minimum 500 supervised clinical hours within the PMHNP program
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language fluently
  • Capacity to react to emergency situations appropriately
  • Skilled communicator and ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively
