Program Lead Job Description

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Lead to oversee a team of specialized navigators at our Anaheim Emergency Shelter (AES).

Job Summary:

The Program Lead will be responsible for supervising a team of navigators, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of services to residents. This includes developing and implementing strategies to achieve organizational goals, managing staff and resources, and maintaining communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and develop specialized navigators, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality services.
  • Provide individual supervision to navigators, including performance management, recruitment, and training.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting, including data on groups facilitated by navigators.
  • Manage staff schedules, track time-off requests, and approve timesheets in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Program Supervisor to gather and maintain programming services data.
  • Assist with ordering and tracking resources, including bus passes and vouchers.
  • Review resident case notes to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Participate in AES all-site staff meetings and ensure navigators attend and actively participate.

Requirements:

  • Minimum GED or High School Diploma required; prior work experience in a shelter, group home, or recovery facility preferred.
  • 2 years Case Manager experience within a mid-to-large team within a homeless population and/or BSW or degree in a related field with minimum 1 year of supervisory experience (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of HMIS (preferred).
  • Must be in good physical health and mental health, capable of meeting the demands of the position.
  • Bilingual/Bi-literate English/Spanish preferred.
