Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a Senior Sensor Operations Systems Engineer to contribute to our Cyber Mission sector. In this pivotal role, you will provide essential systems engineering, program planning, and mission management support for a significant enterprise-level engineering initiative within the Intelligence Community. This full-time position entails a commitment of 1880 hours annually, with responsibilities carried out at a designated customer site.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sensor Operations Systems Engineer, your duties will include:
  • Developing and drafting Concept of Operations documents, task schedules, and other critical program development documentation for engineering teams.
  • Monitoring project status and providing programmatic assistance to ensure successful project execution throughout its lifecycle.
  • Gathering user requirements and conducting technical and programmatic analyses of proposed projects, offering alternative solutions and timelines for government consideration.
  • Researching new technological advancements and engaging with vendors to provide informed recommendations to the government.
  • Facilitating the transition of legacy systems to a unified sensor and data operations framework, ensuring all system requirements are identified and integrated.
  • Maintaining awareness of related sensor initiatives across the organization and identifying opportunities for enhanced program efficiency.
  • Delivering management support and technical guidance concerning project procurement, integration, sustainment, and testing of systems.

Qualifications

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline or related field with a minimum of 20 years of general systems engineering experience; or a Master's degree/PhD with at least 18 years of experience; or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 24 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in translating high-level requirements into functional specifications that consider technical, scheduling, and budgetary constraints.
  • Capability to assist in the planning and deployment of SIGINT systems in collaboration with government partners.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical planning, systems integration, data verification, and supportability analysis for newly integrated systems.
  • Familiarity with SIGINT sensor systems and collection methodologies.
  • Eligibility for TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is mandatory.
Desired Experience:
  • Proven ability to navigate technical and organizational challenges to achieve mission objectives.
  • Experience with tactical SIGINT, particularly involving SIGINT payloads on UAV platforms.
  • Background in program transition and decommissioning strategies.
  • Practical experience in managing both programmatic and technical challenges across multiple ongoing SIGINT projects.
  • Experience collaborating with peer organizations and representing projects to external stakeholders.
  • Ability to advocate for customer interests while fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience in overcoming barriers to success and developing collaborative solutions.
  • Knowledge of System Security Accreditation processes and standards.
  • Experience in hardware/software development, particularly in communications systems.
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Strong communication skills, self-motivated, and a team-oriented mindset.
