Key ResponsibilitiesThe selected individual will be accountable for executing comprehensive mechanical upkeep and servicing of machinery and related equipment. The role entails:
- Overseeing a proactive maintenance strategy.
- Performing inspections and diagnostic evaluations to assess the condition of vehicles and equipment, identifying any worn or damaged components.
- Assessing the performance of all drive train components on trucks and steering systems.
- Executing installation, adjustments, or alignments of braking systems and wheel components, including bearings and air brake systems, to troubleshoot and rectify issues.
- Conducting scheduled preventive maintenance on all units.
- Managing costs effectively by leveraging applicable warranties and assessing service and parts alternatives.
- Enhancing vehicle aesthetics through cleaning, washing, and painting.
- Documenting vehicle service and repair records meticulously.
- Completing additional tasks as assigned.
- A minimum of one year of experience with diesel engines.
- One to three years of substantial automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving, and repair experience.
- Experience as a truck maintenance mechanic or inspector in a commercial garage, fleet leasing company, or a similar environment.
- Familiarity with brake maintenance and inspection in a commercial garage or fleet leasing context.
- Fieldwork requiring the use of various equipment to fulfill duties, with frequent interruptions likely.
- Essential physical activities include continuous standing, bending, sitting, wrist turning, grasping, pinching, and finger manipulation, along with frequent turning, twisting, and reaching.
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions, including cold, heat, and wind.
- Occasional lifting or carrying of heavy items, with push/pull requirements as needed.
- Correctable hearing and vision are essential for this role.
- Applicants will be required to successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screening prior to employment.
