Staff Nurse II WK

The Registered Nurse II is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN II provides care to patients via the therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment and instrumentation, and other healthcare team members.
Essential Responsibilities:- Conduct ongoing systematic assessment and data collection to identify patient needs and develop a plan of care.
- Formulate a goal-directed plan of care that prioritizes patient needs and outcomes.
- Implement care in a thorough, skillful, and consistent manner, utilizing effective communication and teamwork.
- Establish priorities for patient care based on essential patient needs and available unit resources.
- Identify patient and family learning needs and implement appropriate measures to meet them.
- Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to patient and family rights, age-specific needs, cultural and ethical beliefs.
- Provide and coordinate care for patients and patient populations.
- Establish effective working relationships with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
- Acknowledge staff rights and cultural and ethical beliefs.
- Delegate and coordinate duties of healthcare team members.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by healthcare team members.
- Utilize effective communication methods and skills, following lines of authority as appropriate.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and apply safety principles as identified within the institution.
- Perform efficiently in emergency patient care situations, following established protocols and documenting events.
- Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for own professional practice.
- Participate regularly in staff development activities for unit and department personnel.
- Demonstrate knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
- Participate in unit and department performance improvement activities as directed.
- Participate in nursing research activities as requested.
- Identify and solve problems effectively.
- Demonstrate a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Provide data for staffing decisions and demonstrate flexibility in the resolution of staffing issues.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities in documenting, tracking, and conveying information.
- Formulate a goal-directed plan of care that prioritizes patient needs and outcomes.
- Identify patient and family learning needs and implement appropriate measures to meet them.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge base and actions in the care of a designated patient population.
- Participate regularly in staff development activities for unit and department personnel.
