Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare cost estimates by analyzing proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, and related documents.
  • Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Maintain cost data base by entering and backing up data.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
  • Coordinate take-offs and work closely with subcontractors on contract bids.
  • Utilize specific software such as Timberline, On Screen, and Quick Pen for accurate and efficient estimating.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Estimating or a related field within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in CSA (Concrete, Structural, Architectural) estimating.
  • Experience with coordinate take-offs, Timberline, On Screen, Quick Pen softwares.
  • Proven ability to work with subcontractors on contract bids.
  • Exceptional numerical skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • A commitment to maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge.
  • A degree in a relevant field such as Construction Management, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying would be advantageous.
