Heavy Duty Truck Operator

At Waste Management, we're committed to helping our customers manage their waste effectively. We're looking for a skilled Heavy Duty Truck Operator to join our team.
Job Summary
The Heavy Duty Truck Operator will be responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes. This includes performing pre- and post-trip inspections, operating the vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements, and maintaining a clean and safe vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a heavy-duty truck safely and efficiently on transfer routes
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle using a standard DVIR
- Maintain a clean and safe vehicle, adhering to OSHA and DOT requirements
- Communicate with Route Managers and Dispatch to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts
- Perform all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed
- Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage
- Notify Dispatch or Route Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol
- Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager
- Position containers on the customer's property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, containers are set in an upright position, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic
Requirements
- Commercial Drivers License B (CDL)
- At least 1-2 years of driving experience preferred
- Acceptable driving record required

Estimated Salary
$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
