Job Summary

This position is a Physician - Primary Care Provider (PACT) role within the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. The selected candidate will serve as a member of a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) and will be responsible for providing medical care in an outpatient setting following PACT principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care in an outpatient setting following PACT principles.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage a panel of patients.
  • Provide comprehensive patient-centered primary medical care.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to achieve a patient-centered, holistic approach for clinical care and needs of the Veteran.
  • Comply with all directives and policies related to space management to achieve optimal resource utilization (space, professional and administration) to maximize clinic utilization within the PACT model.
Requirements
  • United States Citizenship.
  • English Language Proficiency.
  • Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
Preferred Experience and Certifications
  • Experience in disaster medicine and/or completed advanced training (i.e. fellowship) in disaster or wilderness medicine.
  • Training and/or experience in critical care medicine is favored.
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Certifications from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN) are highly preferred.
