Dental Assistant Job Description

This role will support general dentists and specialists in delivering exceptional patient care. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting dentists chair-side during procedures
  • Greeting and escorting patients with professionalism
  • Taking radiographs as instructed by the provider
  • Preparing and maintaining operatory areas for each patient
  • Stocking materials daily and adhering to OSHA guidelines

In addition, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and checking patients in
  • Collecting and verifying patient demographics
  • Retrieving charts and documenting treatment plans
Requirements
  • 0-5 years of experience in a dental setting
  • Vocational or technical training, or an Associate's Degree
  • Radiology certification and DPH Dental Assistant License
  • Familiarity with dental software, email, and Microsoft Word
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. with or without accommodation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in taking radiographs
  • Competence in infection control procedures
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience working with patients with special healthcare needs
