Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Banfield Pet Hospital. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality care for our furry patients and their owners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing exceptional patient care, including preparing patients for exams and procedures, and assisting with medical procedures as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing education on pet health, wellness, and preventative care, and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring that all necessary information is documented and up-to-date.
  • Assist with surgery, radiography, and other medical procedures as needed, adhering to strict safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow, and provide support and guidance as needed.
Requirements
  • Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • One year of related experience, with customer service skills preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other team members.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods of time.
