Job Overview

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, administration, and optimization of server and storage technologies to ensure high performance for various business applications. This role includes maintaining the availability of client/server applications, configuring new implementations, and developing processes for ongoing server management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate strategies for client/server implementations and architect the necessary infrastructure.
  • Lead projects in the design and evaluation of new server systems, applications, and hardware, including capacity planning.
  • Create diagrams and schematics to clarify design details for both Lab and Production environments.
  • Coordinate and participate in significant process improvements related to the client/server environment.
  • Collaborate with network engineering, business applications, and database administration to ensure server availability and scalability.
  • Establish policies and procedures to enhance server security, including the implementation of firewalls.
  • Design and maintain a robust backup and disaster recovery plan.
  • Monitor help desk entries related to server issues and prioritize responses accordingly.
  • Act as a primary point of escalation for server-related issues, ensuring timely responses to customer concerns.
  • Manage file system configurations and perform server backups and recovery procedures.
  • Plan and execute server upgrades, maintenance, and vendor-supplied patches.
  • Monitor system performance and generate performance reports.
  • Create shell scripts as necessary to automate tasks.
  • Oversee enterprise directory services and the supporting server infrastructure.
  • Develop strategies for integrating diverse operating environments.
  • Recommend modifications to enhance server efficiency and reliability.
  • Produce and maintain training materials and documentation for server operations.
  • Prepare equipment and documentation for Change Management approvals.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
  • Exhibit a commitment to responsible gaming and ethical practices.
  • Demonstrate actions that align with the company's mission and values.
  • Ensure timely reporting of any illegal activities or ethical violations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a technical analytical role managing server environments.
  • Project management skills are a significant advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with good interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to research server issues and products as needed.
  • Ability to articulate ideas in a business-friendly manner.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Additional Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge and at least two years of experience with storage technologies such as SAN or NAS.
  • Five or more years of experience with Microsoft operating systems, PowerShell scripting, SQL Server, and VMWare.
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft O365, and SharePoint is preferred.
Work Environment:
  • The work environment is dynamic and can be noisy and crowded. Exposure to various environmental factors may occur.
  • Effective communication in English is required, specific to job duties.
