Position Title: Security Assistant

The Joint Staff Security Office (JSSO) operates within a spectrum that includes unclassified to Top Secret (TS)/SCI environments. The office provides a variety of security services, which encompass managing personnel clearances, processing personnel, overseeing SCI Facility (SCIF) management and accreditation, collateral space management, and ensuring the protection of classified information.

Role Overview: The Security Assistant will deliver administrative security support to the JSSO across several key areas: INFOSEC, PERSEC, PHYSEC, COMSEC, OPSEC, Insider Threat (InT), and Foreign Disclosure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Information Security (INFOSEC): Assist in administrative security services, including Classification Management, Security Incident Tracking, and Security Training.
  • Personnel Security (PERSEC): Provide support for Collateral and SCI Clearance Processing, Visit Requests, and Security Training & Procedural Guidance.
  • Physical Security (PHYSEC): Aid in the management of the JS PHYSEC Program, including Security Training, Inspections, SCIF Management, and Access Control.
  • Communications Security (COMSEC): Support the operation of the JS COMSEC account, manage COMSEC material, and conduct training for local elements.
  • Operations Security (OPSEC): Facilitate OPSEC training, awareness, and reviews.
  • Insider Threat (InT): Assist with the JS InT Program by performing administrative services related to Insider Threat Training and Records Management.
  • Foreign Disclosure Support: Provide assistance in applying DIA, DOD, and JS security policies regarding foreign disclosure processing.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in English with the ability to comprehend and produce government documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with U.S. Government Security Programs.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Eligibility for TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience in delivering quality customer service to Government personnel and contractors.
