KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver comprehensive weekly and monthly reports on critical financial metrics and related analyses.
  • Prepare and interpret evaluations of firm and business unit performance.
  • Enhance and maintain reporting and analysis of the firm's revenue statistics, particularly concerning demand and pricing.
  • Act as the primary liaison on business unit performance for the firm's practice management function.
  • Prepare and assist in the creation of board-level presentations featuring key financial metrics and analyses.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses as necessary.
  • Develop and support dynamic financial models in Excel, including revenue budgeting, forecasting, lateral partner projections, and partner performance assessments.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to evaluate and design new reporting requirements, especially related to the firm's PowerBI-based dashboard platform.
  • Perform additional related duties and assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A seasoned financial analyst with strong finance, accounting, and systems skills. Proven ability to identify, create, and generate financial reports essential for daily operations and long-term strategic initiatives.

  • 7+ years of experience in financial analysis, querying, and reporting, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA and/or MBA preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Familiarity with Rippe/LMS, Elite, Aderant, or similar financial software is required.
  • Understanding of data warehouse concepts and relevant experience is essential.
  • Preferred skills in SQL query writing, with strong SQL server and OLAP experience.
  • Significant expertise in formatting, analyzing, and presenting stakeholder-centric financial data effectively.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills, along with effective listening, presentation, and facilitation abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across various levels and functions.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
  • Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and thriving in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound business judgment.
  • Well-organized, able to work independently, comprehend business requirements, and proactively identify systems and reporting capabilities to meet those needs.
  • Results-oriented, dependable, and committed to established timelines while demonstrating strong customer service attributes.
  • Adept at identifying root causes, utilizing empirical data, and delivering defensible solutions.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong financial system querying skills with a solid understanding of data cleansing, formatting, and normalization techniques.
