Join Our Team as a Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at NuvoAir. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical team in delivering high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage appointment scheduling for patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of patients through the facility.
  • Collect and update patient information, including demographics, medical history, medications, allergies, and insurance details.
  • Review, work, and manage tasks received in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR) by accurately recording patient data, test results, and treatment plans.
  • Assist with billing procedures, coding medical procedures accurately for insurance claims, and handling financial transactions.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical procedures.
  • Support inbound calls for our patients.
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals via phone and email.
  • Follow up on imaging, lab, DME orders as well as referrals.
  • Gather patient medical history and relevant information before appointments.
  • Check patients in and prepare patients for their telehealth visit.
  • Educate patients on medications, and post-treatment care, along with preventive health measures and healthy lifestyle practices.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree related to this field.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Experience with EHR - Athena is a plus.
