Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the ultrasound equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, including explaining the procedure and positioning the patient.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic scans, ensuring high-quality images and accurate diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with physicians to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient procedures and diagnoses.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest imaging technologies and techniques.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • 2 Year/Associate Degree, preferred.
  • Graduate of ARRT-approved Program or CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program, required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in sonography, required.
  • Certified and registered by ARDMS in three specialties, required.
