  • Evaluate patients' capabilities to safely execute independent living tasks.
  • Develop tailored care plans, specifying treatment types and frequencies, and implement these plans using suitable therapeutic modalities.
  • Document both subjective and objective patient progress effectively.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust care plans as necessary, seeking additional consultation when required.
  • Provide education to patients and their families regarding identified deficits.
  • Assist in planning and facilitating patient discharge from therapy services.
  • Offer guidance on the selection and use of adaptive equipment and available support programs.
  • Supervise the activities of certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians in accordance with licensing laws and professional standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree is mandatory, with graduation from an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Certifications Required:

  • Current State licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare providers.

Complexity of Work:

  • This role necessitates critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Must be capable of functioning effectively in a high-pressure environment.

Work Experience:

  • Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk unaided and maintain balance under varying loads to prevent patient falls.
  • Physical capabilities must align with the heavy demands outlined by occupational standards.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver patients' limbs during therapeutic interventions.
  • Manual dexterity and tactile sensitivity are essential for assessing muscle tension and monitoring vital signs.
  • Visual acuity is required to observe and analyze patient movements and monitor equipment.
  • Clear verbal communication skills are necessary for instructing patients and their families.
  • Ability to hear and comprehend patient feedback regarding symptoms and treatment responses.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Adhere to standard precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.
