The Staffing Specialist will manage employee scheduling and assist in the recruitment process for nursing roles, including nursing aides, CNAs, QMAs, LPNs, and Registered Nurses.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of nursing staff.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet resident needs in accordance with facility policies and state regulations, including filling in for absent staff and addressing scheduling gaps.
- Conduct new hire orientation activities, including drug testing, annual PPD, and other onboarding requirements.
- Coordinate daily assignments for CNAs and QMAs, and manage staffing assignment sheets as directed. This includes creating staffing schedules for each pay period and communicating any changes to employees.
- Adhere to safety protocols, infection control measures, and maintain a clean working environment as per facility policies.
Essential Qualifications for Staffing Specialist
- Possess a valid RN, LPN, or CNA license in the state of employment.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of safe and effective nursing practices.
- Have proficiency in using personal computers, email, and software applications such as Word, Excel, and ADP, along with familiarity with office equipment like faxes and copiers.
