The Opportunity

We are seeking a Project Engineer to work with a team to execute transportation engineering projects. The successful candidate will contribute to highway projects in the preliminary design phase or plan development phase, measure and calculate quantities for bidding purposes, and participate in quality review processes.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, 1-4 years of professional design experience, and Engineer in Training (EIT) certification. They will also have basic working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, experience using Bentley GEOPAK, and corridor modeling experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to highway projects in the preliminary design phase or plan development phase
  • Measure, calculate, and tabulate quantities for bidding purposes

  • Perform CAD drafting in MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads Designer
  • Perform subtasks for a task lead or project manager as part of a collaborative team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 1-4 years of professional design experience
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
  • Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Experience using Bentley GEOPAK and corridor modeling experience

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments. Ability to carry equipment and supplies in remote, rural, or urban surroundings. Ability to work outdoors in all seasons of weather. Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances.
