Role Overview: Store Receiving and Maintenance Associate
The Store Receiving and Maintenance Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring the overall upkeep of the retail environment, managing the unloading of shipments, and facilitating the movement of products to designated areas on the sales floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the store remains clean and presentable
- Performing cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, and maintaining glass surfaces, as well as managing waste disposal and carpet spot cleaning
- Restocking maintenance supplies and replacing light fixtures as necessary
- Keeping the associate lounge tidy and welcoming
- Providing assistance to customers when required
- Addressing safety concerns promptly, including spills and hazards
- Merchandise Handling
- Accurately unpacking merchandise in line with store policies and efficiency targets
- Attaching security tags appropriately without damaging products, as directed by management
- Transporting merchandise to the correct departments and returning carts to their designated areas
- Collecting hangers from checkout areas
- Ensuring all merchandise is displayed on the sales floor by opening time
- Adhering to General Policies
- Reporting any suspected theft or unusual activities in accordance with security protocols
- Maintaining clear traffic aisles to comply with safety regulations
- Participating in all scheduled store meetings and training sessions
- Upholding a professional appearance that aligns with the store's dress code
- Being flexible to assist in various areas or complete tasks as assigned by supervisors
Additionally, assist in the training of new associates when requested by management.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Capability to read and follow policy and procedure manuals
- Must be able to lift weights ranging from 10 lbs to 72 lbs at various heights
- Ability to push or pull carts weighing between 100 lbs to 500 lbs
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working at elevated heights
- Proficient in operating a computer
- Ability to work independently
- Capacity to stand for extended periods
